An Impressive Entrance to the Tomb of I’timād-ud-Daulah

AGRA, India — It’s easy to see why the Tomb of I’timād-ud-Daulah is sometimes referred to as the “Baby Taj” — a distinction that begins with the red sandstone entrance structure.

Similar to the Taj Mahal‘s Great Gate, the Tomb of I’timād-ud-Daulah sports a main archway and two smaller ones on each side. Yet the face of the building lacks the inlay Persian script seen around the arches on the Taj structures.

This was just the entrance.
