NEW DELHI, India — In an age of online bookstores and the impersonal nature of e-book readers, it was a pleasure to stumble upon a local shop that peddles physical tomes on a wide variety of topics.
Anil Book Corner fit that bill, with stacks of books — arranged vertically, horizontally or randomly — from floor to ceiling in place of where a shop window would normally fit.
The Hindustan Times, in its wonderful overview of Connaught Place bookstores, writes, “The owner, Anil Kumar Aggarwal, doesn’t permit an easy bargain. Cultivate a relationship and you might find him flexible.”
